Clara is 2 years old!!

I can't believe my baby girl is 2 years old! Stop growing so fast!! Clara is talking in sentences now and says the absolute cutest things! Last week she asked me if she could brush her teeth, like she does about 5 times a day. I said in 1 minute Clara, let me finish what I'm doing first. She looks over at brother and says "Miles, in 1 minute I'm going to brush my teeth, okay." And yesterday in the car she points up at a water tower and says "Mommy there is water in there." I"m like what in the world, who told you that? She says "daddy told me." She had seen one a few days before and asked what it was, Brian casually said a water tower and that was the end of the conversation. This was a totally different water tower and she inferred on her own that it must have water in it if its a water tower. Crazy kid. Her new favorite thing to say is "I do it all by myself." Which I might add can be quite inconvenient when you are trying to get somewhere and she wants to take 10 minutes to put her own shoes on and another 10 minutes to buckle herself up in the car seat. The Lord is teaching me patience!

She has become a much pickier eater but she is really good about at least trying new foods even if she says she doesn't like them 80% of the time. She did eat asparagus this week and liked it which was kind of a shocker since the only green thing I can get her to eat most of the time is peas. She does much better with fruit and likes almost all meat as long as its prepared without a lot of sauce on it. Clara still takes a 2 hour nap and sleeps 11 hours at night. She is very predictable about her sleeping and she will ask to go to sleep if she is really tired which is kind of amazing.

Clara's current obsession is Daniel Tiger. We have seen the 12 episodes on netflix at least 5 times each. Of all the things for her to like to watch it definitely is one of the better shows. She has been asking to sit on the potty for about 2 months now which we let her do but nothing ever happens. Then after watching a Daniel Tiger episode about using the potty she asked to use the potty and finally went! She has gone on the potty probably 5-6 times in the last 2 weeks but we aren't pushing it right now unless she asks. I don't think she is quite ready but we will probably work on it more consistently this summer.

For Clara's 2 year check up she weighed 25 lbs (30%) and was 35 inches long (80%). She is mostly wearing 2T size clothes but I have a terrible time finding pants that have a small enough waist since she is so tall and skinny.

For Clara's birthday we started the day with birthday pancakes!!

Then opened a few presents.

In the afternoon we had a birthday party at Gymboree! With a 1 month old baby at home I wasn't interested in a birthday party that involved me cleaning the house and since Clara loves to run around, Gymboree was the perfect place! She loved it and was sooo excited the whole time!

Miles is 1 Month Old

My sweet little man is 1 month old! It feels like its going even faster this time! Miles is such a sweet baby and usually only cries when he wants to eat or needs to be changed. He has a small fussy time in the evenings but is fine as long as his mommy is holding him. He still eats every 3 hours but sometimes will do 1 four hour stretch at night. He does really well going right back to sleep at night after he eats so I can't complain. We tried a bottle the last two nights and he was not a fan. Guess we will have to keep working on it. He loves tummy time and is doing great holding up his head. He also likes baths although he doesn't get those too often (poor second child). Miles is already filling out his 3 month clothes and probably will be in 6 months soon. At his 1 month appointment he weighed 10.6 lbs (50%) and was 22.5 inches long (60%). The doctor said he thought that was a record for a breast fed baby to gain 3 pounds in 1 month! He is just starting to smile and coo which makes my heart melt. We love our sweet boy so much and can't wait to see more of his personality.
